Golden Book of Favorite Songs, 12th ed., revised (cover, pp 1-19)

I purchased this particular book at auction several years ago, but The Bat remembers using this in school music classes. You probably learned at least a few songs in this collection, even if you never held this book in your hot little hands, yourself, though. 

It's a classic, filled with classics.

 My copy of this book, which I bought at auction several years ago, is badly mildewed (to the degree that I can't flip through it without heavily dosing myself on antihistamines and other allergy meds), so I took a few days when I could work with windows open, scanned the pages, and will be posting them in (I hope) proper numeric order.

Some projects would be frowned upon, these days, but the book has some intriguing insights into what was expected of, for example, a good scout around the time I was born.

Note that this book was the size of a standard notepad (8" x 11") and cost a grand whopping $1.99 when it was first released. I think I paid about the same when I bought it, about 50 years later.
